Trading Room Conditions: August 31, 2005 6:35-7:52 AM (PST)
Today is the last trading day in August. Although the market ended the day higher than its opening price, the market was in a state of flux for the first three hours after the opening bell. In the Trading Room, from 6:35AM to 7:52AM (PST), our Coach Team traded stocks. Four were profitable, and one resulted in a loss of 3 cents/share, for a final per stock profit of $2.56. Because the market did not have a clear trend, the holding time for each stock was relatively short, only 30 minutes on average. For a detailed record of the trades, please refer to the charts below.
Recall from Coach Wei Wang’s August 28 lecture on “Intraday Swing Trading as a Living” that the trading volumes in July and August are comparatively low, so it is the most difficult time to day trade. However, our performance thus far has been very good. We believe that in the coming month, trading volume will continue to increase, and our performance will improve accordingly.
